Dan Auerbach "Trouble Weighs a Ton"
maybe it's a function of my new environment (aka Portland) but I am so totally enamored with the whole "beard rock" movement. rootsy...bluesy...folksy...true...simple...damn good music! and as with most seminal music epiphanies in my life i have DEANNA ANN WATSON to thank for the introduction. love you lady!

1. WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE? To satisfy both grandmothers (Gracie Mae and Maxine Ola) my parents invented "Mayola". My first name is Crystal (as in the 70s country singer with ridiculously long hair) but Mayola is the person I've become in the last two years.
2. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED? watching Mickey Rourke and Evan Rachel Wood have the i'm-a-shithead-dad-moment in 'The Wrestler'.
3. DO YOU LIKE YOUR HANDWRITING? depends entirely on the type of pen I'm writing with....I like long and lean ballpoint pens
4. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LUNCH MEAT? peppered salami
5. DO YOU HAVE KIDS? no thankfully...but i leave room for the 1% chance I'll meet someone who'll stir some sort of procreative desire in me

On the plane to America!
My year long adventure is at end. Off to phase two: moving out West.
